The stresses that come from the road are transmitted directly to the handlebars in the form of unpleasant vibrations, which soon turn into annoying tingles in the hands, compromising comfort and grip on the handlebars. To be able to absorb them while minimizing them, it would take a handlebar “with muscles”-a simple but ingenious idea introduced by Selle Italia’s Shock-Absorber Kit. Shock-Absorber Kit consists of two elements: Bar Pad and SGTape. SG-Tape is a special grip-equipped tape that provides even more comfort and better grip on the handlebars, bringing advantages in both performance and safety in the saddle. The Bar Pads are composed of three layers in different materials: the first, made of gel, helps simulate the behavior of a muscle, compressing upon contact and regaining its original shape in seconds as soon as hand pressure is relieved. In addition to the gel layer, the addition of PU Foam and a third layer of Lycra help increase the softness of the Bar Pads.
