The Fizik Vento Powerstrap R2 Aerowave cycling shoe is a pure competition bike shoe. It is the lightest and most breathable model in Fizik’s dedicated performance range. Designed with an innovative high-strength mesh construction combined with our stiffest carbon sole.
The goal of reducing weight and increasing ventilation while maintaining support and protection led our designers and engineers to develop a new material for the upper: Aeroweave is an advanced fabric that weaves lightweight nylon fibers with thermoplastic polymer filaments. This blend of threads creates a material with an open, mesh-like structure that is extremely ventilated, yet highly durable and resilient.

TECHNOLOGIES :
AEROWAVE
The quest to reduce weight and increase ventilation while maintaining support and protection led our designers and engineers to the development of a new material used in the upper. Aeroweave, is an advanced woven fabric that weaves lightweight nylon fibers with thermoplastic polymer filaments.
This blend of threads creates a material with an open mesh pattern that is extremely airy, yet highly durable and resilient. The upper of the Vento Powerstrap R2 Aeroweave is so intensely ventilated that cyclists’ socks are visible through it. Aeroweave is a malleable material and moves to effectively cradle the foot, but its toughness provides the support and containment needed for a high-performance running shoe.
POWERSTRAP
While most traditional Velcro closures simply join two sides of the shoe upper, in the Vento Powerstrap configuration a strap wraps around the foot, providing secure containment using only two straps. The instep and metatarsal are separately adjustable for a customized fit and compression. These straps have been simplified to make them even lighter and stronger.
CARBON R2 OUTSOLE
Completely new outsole with an engineered carbon fiber layup that saves weight and offers increased rigidity. With a stiffness index of 10, this sole is the stiffest in the fizik range. A wide ventilation inlet and deep internal channeling provide cooling airflow, aiding temperature regulation. Cleat placement is set back slightly from traditional settings to optimize pedaling efficiency and reduce knee compression, particularly suitable for very aggressive aerodynamic forward positions.
